I'm a newbie at this. I have Photoshop Elements 6 on a mac dual intel imac. Works great. When I check the "about plugins" it shows camera raw as 4.3.1.If I try to update as recommended, I don't have a "plugins" in my library/application support/adobe/photoshopelements6 chain. Where is it?
Do you need to do something special to open an .nef file or will it just recognize it as a raw file and open it in camera raw?
Thanks for any help.

Although for Windows, post #1 in this thread should help you with the correct ACR installation:-

If the correct ACR is installed then just opening the RAW file will open ACR.

For mac have to follow the correct library path. Don't use the library under your user name. Instead click on the hard drive icon and follow that library path: HD>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Plug-ins>CS3>FileFormats. Drag the old version of camera raw out of the file formats file to your desk top. Copy/paste the new version in there and start PSE. After verifying working correctly may trash the old version.
