I was wondering, is it possible to create new layer styles in PSE 5? I knew that actions and Custom Shapes are only created in PS; so, with my luck, I'm sure styles are too; but I just thought I'd ask.

Hi ...

I am afraid that you need Photoshop to create Layer Styles ... but you can use any premade ones in Elements.

Didn't know with the time zone difference when Wendy would get back to you, so just to step in here, premade, just means, ones that are already made. That would be the ones that come with Elements or ones that you download for free or pay for on the internet - any that already exist.

With PS, you can use these premade ones, make changes to them to modify premade ones, or you can just make your own.

I download a lot of free ones, but with metals especially, I usually need to change them a little to make them look good. Sometimes the size of the item you are using the style on really makes it look different.

Its packed with goodies and most of them work in Elements :)
