Hi ...

You can't have your brushes showing up withing Elements in their own category but you can store them outside of Elements in a folder called My Brushes. Once they are in that folder then you will need to load them as and when you need them :)

Wendy,

I devised a way to have a brush that I made be accessible directly within PE from its own library.

1. Download a brush file. The content is irrelevant. What we are after is an ABR file
2. Place this in the Elements>Preset>brushes folder. I use WIN_XP, hence its access is via Windows Explorer. Rename this file - I renamed it to "Copyright Brushes_4".
3. Make a brush and it can be saved in the currently active brush library (the one from step#2) where it should appear at the end. Right click on the flyout menu, where the option to delete a brush is available. I deleted all the brushes except for the new one that I made.
4. Subsequently, I have added to this library.

Hi Ken ..

You can indeed put a new brush set into Elements but I can't think of a way that you can several brush sets appearing in a my brushes folder within Elements.

Wendy, is this a limitation of PSE5? It's been a long time since I used that version so I don't remember. In PSE 7, you can use the preset manager to save a set of brushes - the next time you start PSE7, the brush set you created will show up in the list along with all of the other brush sets. I feel like I'm missing something here ...

I agree. I made a brush set with components of my choice. The newly created brushes do not appear at the end of another brush set. They are unique and readily identifiable.

I have tried this many times now.
The problem is:
-- i delete the brushes, except for the new ove
-- when i open PSE the next time the brushes are back.

I have tried many differents ways to delete:
--the little black arrow to the right of the brushes and "Delete brushes"
--right click on each brush and then "dlete brush"
--ALT and click on the brush
--Edit --the second line from the end....i dont know the engl. word for it--
there i can delet a brush too.

But....when i open PSE 5 again the brushes i deleted are back:confused:
