I have PSE6 on my computer. When I install PSE& will it asked me if I want to remove 6 or do I do that myself? Anything else I should know before I do the install?
Thanks

I don't think it will ask if you want to uninstall ... they seem to be installed completely independent of one another. I still have version 6 installed (and usable) although I upgraded to 7 several months ago. You just can't run them at the same time.

Hi Gary ..
Glenda is right it won't ask you to uninstall PSE6 ... the versions are all separate and I have quite a few different ones on my computer :)

Thanks Wendy and Glenda. Why would you want more than one version?
How do I by pass the start up screen in PSE7. I do not see a box to check to take me right to the editor, or organizer. Seems like they are using the start up screen as "ad space" for their Photoshop.com!!
Thanks again

Gary, I keep asking myself the same question :) Since I have plenty of space on my hard drive, I just never got around to removing the previous version.
To bypass the "welcome" screen, I have a shortcut that goes directly to the editor - the target is: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe". If you need additional help on how to create the shortcut, just let us know.

Hi ..
The main reason I keep several versions on the Mac is so that I can answer questions on that particular version ... quite often people will ask how to do something in a specific version and as things change over the years I like to check back and make sure that I am giving the correct advice :)

Hi Gary,
You may find this (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_PSE_7_Welcome) very helpful.

I keep getting a popup that I must uninstall previous version. I don't want to uninstall PSE5 until I'm sure 7 is okay and I also don't want to lose all my plug-ins, etc. (Not real computer literate. I'm sure there's a way to save them.) Is there a way to disable PSE5 without uninstalling it?

How do I get a catalog to detect that new files have been added to a folder when I open PSE7? PSE6 always asked if I wanted to add the new images. PSE& does not.
Thanks
Gary
