I asked this in the beginners forum above, but thought I would also ask here hoping for input from a more experienced hand who might not be reading there.
I have a set of slide shows that I am burning to DVD. That part is working pretty well and I am getting happier with my results as I continue to experiment and learn the programs (PSE6 and PrE7). One feature I am not yet finding is how to force the final disk to include a folder or folders of the original JPG photos so that people I give the DVDs to can access the full res photos on their computer or drugstore kiosk and print them if they so desire. I had used a bundled version of MyDVD that came with my computer in the past and it included the photos automatically on the CD (yes, older version, older computer, limited program, etc). I liked that feature and wish to do the same from Premiere Elements 7. I have not figured out how to do so, is it even possible? If so, how do I do it?
Thanks in advance, and please pardon me for posting this question in two forum areas. In the other area it is lumped with more simpleminded questiosn that are more appropriate there.

A product like Sonic/Roxio MyDVD also provides a program (RecordNow) that will burn a video folder to DVD, Premiere Elements does not provide that functionality.
To add a folder to your DVD you will need to burn the video first to a folder in Premiere Elements and then use RecordNow or Nero to burn the video folder plus your additional folder to a DVD, you cannot do it with Premiere Elements alone.

That explains it, I thought I was just missing something. I don't have record now (just a trial version of MyDVD 6 which is very limited. I chose to spend my money on pre7 rather than upgrading to the full version of that. I do believe I have something that can open an ISO, so I will try that and then add the folder and burn the ISO. Thank you again for the help.

Burning to folder in Premiere Elements, followed by burning a picture folder PLUS VIDEO-TS of the saved folder to a DVD using Nero or Record Now Software
The suggestion previously posted in this thread lacked the teeth to follow up on that suggestion. Saying that you can use the suggestion is one thing, but “How?” I do not think that it is that obvious.
Example Nero (StartSmart interface)
I find that you can use one or the other, not both, when you need both:
a. “Make Data DVD” which you would use if you had just the folder with jpeg pictures.
and
b. “Burn Image to Disc” which you would use if you went the Premiere Elements Burn to Folder route where you burn the VIDEO_TS of the saved folder to DVD.
Yes, I believe that you can use Nero for this purpose, but you must have a version that has the “Nero Burning ROM” feature/mode and add your picture folder in the Compilation Window.

I have used the Nero Burning ROM once before for some VCD modifications, but I have not used it for the issue at hand. Here is a “how to” for burning a DVD via the Compilation of the Nero Burning ROM. I think that you could add your picture folder “in the root of the project” just before burn. I would try it for you, but I no longer have that Nero software.

Example Record Now:
Here Record Now allowed me to burn both the VIDEO-TS Folder and the picture folder to the same DVD disc under one setting. I used the “Burn Image” option (had multisession option shutoff). That turned out great for playback of the video on the computer with CyberLink Power DVD and the pictures via Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. HOWEVER, when I took that disc to the TV/DVD player, the TV message was incompatible disc.
Check out my comments and see if anything in them works for you.

Thanks for the details. I have an old copy of a Sony DVD making program that I was planning on figuring out and using. I know that the folder may not work if placed at the root, but I think I can find a place for it. I have a very old CD slideshow with a folder somewhere, so I hope to dig it up and see where the folder was placed on it. It was a VCD, so the answer may not apply to a real DVD. Unfortunately, I have neither Nero or recordnow, although the concepts you show me in your links should apply to what I do have.
I thank you for all the time you have saved me. I really owe you all.

What troubled me most about all this was the inability to get playback on the TV/DVD player in spite of the fact that I did get everything on the DVD and had playback on the computer via the CyberLink PowerDVD software and the Windows Fax and Picture Viewer.
When I was working with Nero Burning ROM/Compilation/Root and VCD, I was trying to create an autoplay VCD. I created it, but..........that playback is the killer.
So, let us know how you do. It will be interesting and informative.
Good luck.
