I can't figure out what is wrong here. I was following Jo's Image Autumn hike/bike Impressionist technique-trying to download teh Impressionist accessories, etc, which I have now in C:program files/adobe/adobe pse6[which I have],/plug ins/Impressionist accessories-one only and the same for Impressionist.8bf-one only. The others I put in Windows>System. When I go to Editor-they are not there-I think they should be under filters but zippo-nothing. Can you help straighten this out for me! Love this but soooo frustrating!

Hi,

I've installed the Impressionist filter in both PSE4 and PSE7 and they're working fine. I didn't do anything with those .dll files. All I did was to copy the Impressionist Accessories folder and the Impressionist .8BF file to the Plug-ins folder.

I have it in PSE6 and it shows up in the editor in the lower section of the list of filters.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins

The Impressionist.8bf file is there and the folder named Impressionist Accessories.

thanks for the info.--I now have them in the filters-it's a huge thing! It will be a steep learning curve for me but exciting. Do you know if there are any tuts regarding this?

Thanks-I have them now but I also found all the styles are now in my organizer!..I don't need them there-do I? All I need is to have them in the plug ins-right?

I don't use the organizer, so I can't answer that question, but I think it just needs to be in Plugins.

I find that the effects are a little too strong most of the time, so I always use it on a duplicate layer -- and usually wind up reducing the opacity.

Have fun!

I've removed them form the organizer and I will have fun. Thanks to you and everyone else who helps us newbies come to grips with PSE! You are very generous with your time and skills.!
