I just bought Elements 7.0 and tried to make a back-up copy of the Disk using Roxio Creator 9.0. No luck. Any suggestions?

Made my backup copy with Nero (Express, I think - came free with a burner I bought) and installed the program from the backup with no problems.

Personally, I have never heard anything good about the Roxio software (except for one friend of mine). Some people swear by it and some swear at it. A friend of mine says it is the best there is and hates Nero. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Suggest you review all of your burner settings, update the firmware or try a different brand CD. Some burners need firmware updates for some brands of CD's. You should update the firmware regularly for the burner as they update the media types fairly often. Normally they are self-executing updates so it is relatively painless to do.

I build about 30 systems a year for people and install licensed versions of Nero on most of them and never have any complaints about it.

Hi Fred,

I have PSE7. I have Roxio Digital Media SE (came preinstalled in my pc). I couldn't burn a PSE7 back-up cd; it kept warning me the file was too big. Finally I succeeded -- I had to use a DVD-R disc and burnt it as a DATA disc. You may have the same option in Roxio Creator.
