Why no icons in OPTIONS BAR

Hi; I have been using Elements 3,4,5, and now I started to work with Elements 7

Before when I chose a tool the tool was displayed on the options bar, but in 7 I see some things but not the tool? Is it me or something I will have to live with?

Since there was never a Premiere Elements 5, I am assuming that you are referring to versions of Photoshop Elements, not Premiere Elements. You have found your way into the Premiere Elements Forum.

Assuming my assumption is correct, what tool are you using in Photoshop Elements 7? Although the options for a specific tool are expected to be found in the Options Bar, the icon for that Tool is not always. I have Photoshop Elements 3 and 6.

Give me a specific tool example, and I will double check and let you know the results of my double check in this thread.

Just a quick add on....

Since I posted last, I took at quick look at my Photoshop Elements 3 versus Photoshop Elements 6. Photoshop Elements 3 is indeed characterized by a selected tool being represented in the Options Bar as its icon which appears along with its options for use.

This is not the case in Photoshop Elements 6.

Since you say that you have used Photoshop Elements 3, 4, and 5 and found them the same in this respect, I would guess then that the change was reflected starting Photoshop Elements 6 and continued in Photoshop Elements 7.
