I think the compositions not too bad. Because of the shadows, I would leave the palm. It adds to the forground, but isn't so big as to be a distraction. If you removed it, you might have to get rid of the shadows as well. Of course, leaving the shadows with no palm in the forground might be intersting too. There are soooooo many things you could do to this photo.

I think the palm has to stay. In fact, I think I'd clone it and make it even bigger!

Jon, here it is without the palm tree. The palm shadows could be from other palm trees not within the viewing area.
I mostly used the clone tool with a little smudge tool, and lighten it a bit.
Either way look fine to me, it's your choice.

I agree with SharLamb. Make it bigger, and play up the colors a bit! If I got rid of anything, it would be the white steps on the big rock on the left.

I like the Palm Tree in the image ... I thing it adds interest and put the shadow into perspective :)

Leave the tree. It adds to the composition.

No i took the wife on a long weekend too maderia back in early june lovelly quite place, trouble is the runway is built on stilt,s in the sea and is very short,hair rasin.
