Just downloaded an upgrade for elements 7. How do I load brushes I created in 5? Can I remove 5 and still have all working features of 7? How do I make a copy of 7 as a back up, so I can reinstall in the event my computer develops a problem?

Hi pho2cats,
Assuming you are running Windows, the brush files you can put in:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Presets\Brushes
Or, alternatively, you can leave your custom brushes in a folder anywhere (such as under My Documents) and Load them as you need them in Elements. Here's a link to a post attaching a small PDF to download with illustrated instructions:

You don't need version 5.0 on your computer for 7.0 to fully operate. Each version is a complete application, not an upgrade. However, if you want to keep both versions on your computer, you can still use both, but cannot have both loaded at the same time.
If you downloaded PSE 7.0 and want to back it up, just burn the install file you downloaded to a CD.
Hope this helps.

Diane, thank you for your information. Made a copy of the install and took care of brushes then deleted PSE 5. Wow, you are good. Once again, thank you.
