My husband and I will be visiting his sister and husband and their kids (all grown) this Christmas. We are only able to visit them once every few years. Since we are going to be bringing all of them Christmas gifts, I wanted to also give them each a Christmas Card that I have made. I was just wondering if it would be appropriate to give them all the same card or to make up individual cards. I only have a picture or two of some of the family members, not all of them. I plan on taking pictures while I'm up there so I can make individual cards next year.
This is the card I have come up with. The first picture on the left has his sister in it (far right) and the next to the last picture is of my husband and his sister when they were young. The last picture on the right is at a wedding for his sister's son.

I think most people expect Christmas cards to be mass-produced, not unique to each person. When you buy a set of cards they are all the same.

A fun thing to do, if they are readers of course, is to do a family book mark for each of them. Once they are printed I take them to Staples for lamination, punch a hole and put a pretty ribbon or cord, and done:)

I think it's a lovely card and entirely appropriate to give the same one to everyone. I would guess that they'll all want copies of those photos anyway, and I think each one of them will treasure the cards, and your thoughtfulness.

I think the fact that you created it and personalized the card is great. Surely friends and family would not expect to be the only ones receiving this card, but a box of cards does not hold the same magic. I think it is appropriate for all your friends and family to receive, they will be delighted.

Your Christmas card is beautiful and I agree that most people expect the same card. You'll have plenty other photographs for next Christmas and it will give you more time to put together a separate one for 2009.

Oh that is lovely ... and I am sure that people will love it not be concerned that all your cards are the same :)

Your card is beautifully done. I think everyone will be thrilled to receive it and not even give a thought to the fact that they are all the same.

Your card is lovely! I'm sure it will be treasured by your family, even if they all get the same card. The important fact here is -- this card is "you."

Because you are using family photos in your card, giving each person the same one is OK.
However, if you were making cards without photos and everyone would get their cards in the presence of others - I would make individual cards.
Your Christmas card is wonderful. I think everyone will just love it.
