It should work in PSE. If it is like most templates, it will have a blank or solid color space to paste the picture you want to use into it.

I downloaded the template also. In the layer palette, everything is understandable, except one layer that has a "file folder" displayed on the layer, and a symbol that I've not seen before. Any advice is always welcome.

Hi Suzanne, I also downloaded the action. That symbol (Folder) is a folder group.
In photoshop you can group folders together and collapse them into one folder.
Great when you have a layers pallette a mile long.

Normally you cannot open these folders in PSE. I was reading a post by TonyW,
very recent, within the last few days, where he says you can do in PSE7 in the action (runner - wrong name, but you get the idea.
I don't have seven, and am lousy with the search.

Basically I will delete the file. I do have CS2 so I could open them.
Nothing special. IMNSHO:rolleyes:.

EDIT:
Here is a post by TonyW on Layer groups opening.

If I understand you right, I could delete those layers that have a thumbnail of the folder? BTW, in your link, there was no post by TonyW.

This was the thread in question I believe:

http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42530

There was a way to ungroup sets in PSE3 and PSE4 but in later versions you can't do it that way so you need to use an action to do it (Elements Plus has one that will do it)

And you can't just delete the layer because those sets contain lots of key layers. On the other hand they are locked and the instructions say don't unlock and edit them. Somewhat defeats the purpose of the template because those locked layers contain most of the card so unless you are into serious editing you're stuck with most of it. So as a template I agree with mks it's a bit of a waste of time.

Hi Suzanne, sorry about the wrong link.
I should go to bed at a decent time and quit confusing people.
My communication skills need improvement too.
I meant I will send the template to pixel heaven.
Up close I'm not that interested.
Sorry about the confusion.

Since no-one has linked to a tut, I will elaborate(hopefully enough to be of help). Select and copy the photo you want to add to the template. Open the template. Most will have a solid color space(often gray is chosen) where you will add your own photo. Use the magic wand set on contiguous and click on the color to select it. Edit>paste into selection. May use move tool or transform if need to adjust size.
