Well I plan to get a portable hard drive to store my iTunes on sometime in january. I don't really use this program right now. Would it be ok if I took it off or would it not load back on since my dad has also loaded it onto his PC as well. How many time can I load and unload it?
( I know the correct term is install but bleh lol)
Thanks,
Will

Will,
I get your message about loaded vs installed, but I just need to make sure of:
Comp slow. Does that equal computer slow?
Can I take it off....What is it, Premiere Elements 4?
First some questions,
1. Is Premiere Elements 4 on your computer and your father's the same copy (same serial number) and was it installed in each case from a disc, not downloaded from Adobe?
2. When you purchase Premiere Elements 4, you do not really "purchase" it. Instead you enter into a Software License Agreement with Adobe. Have you read the "Adobe Product License Agreements" document that came with your Premiere Elements 4? If not, take a look, especially Section 2 named Software License and its subsection 2.4 Portable or Home Computer Use
http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/Gen_WWCombined-CS3-20060817_1651.pdf
The way that I read that 2.4 is that you are allowed to install one copy on one computer and another on another computer as well in the "same household", BUT you should not be using the two at the same time. But, read the agreement for yourself.
But, to the bottom line, if you meet all of the "Adobe Product License Agreements" and have the installation disc, you should be able to uninstall and reinstall Premiere Elements 4 PROVIDED there are no computer complications/glitches along the way.

ATR,
Thanks for the reply. I understand it to be able to installed on two computers but not used at the same time. I have only used Premiere Elements 4 about twice since I have had it, I dont think my dad has used it at all. However, I will be checking his computer tomorrow to see if it is still on there. I think I am going to remove it for the time being, if I need it and it will not install I will contact adobe for that natter when it comes to hand.
Thanks for the help,
Will

Will,
I would not advise you to remove the Premiere Elements 4 from your computer until you find out if an installation disc came with the Premiere Elements 4 on your computer. That information would give you more flexibility in your final decision and less complications if your Premiere Elements 4 did not come with that installation disc.
Adobe is the final judge on interpreting its Licensing Agreement. But, this is one way I read it. Example, your father "buys" Premiere Elements 4 with serial number X and installs it on his Desktop computer. Then he decides that he wants to have this same copy of Premiere Elements 4 with serial number X on his laptop and use the installation disc to install it on the laptop. If I am right, then Adobe says it is OK to do that, BUT, he should not be opening and running the Desktop and laptop versions at the same time....either work on the Desktop OR the laptop.
I will leave all that for you to consider, check out, consult with your father, and, if necessary, contact Adobe for the final word.
