At your suggestion, I checked out your video at YouTube and concluded that neither you nor your helper "Tess" need any suggestions on "your first project".

I also doubled checked your credits for the video with Internet listings. And, it would appear that you are indeed a professional carpenter at the address given and Tess is a professional free lance video person at the address given for her.

I will apologize in advance if I am wrong, but this gives the appearance of being a cleverly disguised "Spam". If I am wrong, please let me know.

Awww, ATR, give the poor guy the benefit of the doubt ... spammers don'e usually fill out their profile or post other questions about problems with their camera :D

Glenda,

Not usually, but....

Bradley presented a first project video and acknowledged help (if you watch the video credits, apparently from a professional free lance video person). The video is very well done and appears not to be in need of any further suggestions.

Why not present some details or clarify the work that he did himself, like version of Premiere Elements used, effects, etc? The audio question that he presented in another thread is best addressed through Audacity, not Premiere Elements. See my response in that thread.

You should know that I am the first one to discourage creativity and involvement. I always go the extra mile to resolve or try to resolve people's Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements/often other computer & software problems...step by step by step, if need be. But, this all made be wonder.

In my initial remarks, I believe I did leave open the element of doubt aspect. I hope that my first impression was wrong and that we all can move forward.

Glenda, thanks for your involvement.

Glenda,

Sorry,......major edit needed in my comments to you....It definitely should be "I am the first one to encourage creativity and involvement....".

This got messed up on my re-edit from "last one to discourage..." to "first one to encourage..."

No.........no spam here. Just a really pleased and proud newbie. I had been wanting to do a timelapse project for my website for a couple of years now and finally had a project come up that would render itself well in a timelapes and I developed a little knowledge of how to make my camera take the 3 minute interval shots I needed. So I initially tried to do this on Windows Movie Maker but it was a real PITA so I asked around about a program that would help me do what I wanted and somebody suggested PE4 so I bought it and quickly became totally baffled and confused with it.
I posted a request on Craigslist for a tutor to help me learn PE4 and that's how I met Tess. We met for 5 sessions, two hours each. First session she showed me how to navigate through the program and explained the logic and how to apply the logic and how to find answers to my questions and problems. Finding this forum was a result of one of her suggestions. Another was finding answers on YouTube. One of my struggles was understanding the language and the context of the language of film making and she was really helpful in explaining answers and showing me examples. Once I had a better idea of navigation we set out on the clip. Before she would arrive, as my homework, I would organize the pic's/clip and make lots of mistakes and she would walk me through how to logic out a solution. After she would leave at the end of the session I would proceed with the new skills I just learned and work on the next phase of the clip. I would still have my frustrations mixed with sucesses and failures and these would be the next days lessons. I'm pleased to acknowledge that there is a polished quality to the clip but ultimately, I did all the work. She was helpful with showing me the necessary logic and suggustions for what was possible to do and how to find out how to do it all the while being gracious with my ineptness and egerness.
I'm currently working on an underwater movie project of some salmon spawning in Lake Tahoe. She's not helping me with this one but I wish she was. But in her absence I'll look forward to input and help from this board.

I know we're all a bit worn down by the 'spam message' thing, but I agree with Glenda that BjR appears to be a legitimate user who took the time to fill out a profile and joined the Village. Whether he got help or not, he produced a pretty nice demo video of something he built on his own. I don't think he's selling 'cheap sunglasses' or some other scam.

Again, apologizes if my first impression was incorrect. I look forwarding to responding to any of your further technical questions with my "it works for me" or "from what I have read" answers. Please let us know if my response to your audio question in that other thread worked for you.

Thank you for your point of view. But, I do think that your comment about "cheap sunglasses" was inappropriate for the occasion and definitedly not in the same classes as real estate, carpentry, video services and/or equipment. Nothing cheap about them.

While I think that I have your attention, I would like to ask a question. But, first, what exactly is the working relationship between you and Photoshop Elements Techniques Newsletter and Elements Village. You sign in here as Administrator. Over there you are Editor in Chief. So that sounds like you should have an answer for the question that I am taking so long to ask. What about and where are the Premiere Elements 7 video tutorials here? Also, what are your plans for responding to the technical Premiere Elements questions presented in this forum?

Sorry - we've had a couple of spam posts recently from 'people' who asked simple questions and had a link to "Cheap sunglasses" in their message body. Those are definite spam posts, and the fact that there wasn't one here was what made me make the comment. Wasn't trying to be snide, but obviously should have been more informative. Again, I apologize if my note came off as such.

I am the general manager for Photo One Media, the company that purchased Photoshop Elements Techniques newsletter and Elements Village earlier this year. (And I am also the EIC for the newsletter, as you noted.)

To be honest, we're still working through our plans for Premiere Elements. The Kelby Group, which formerly ran the newsletter and the forums, didn't spend a lot of time covering Premiere Elements. Most subscribers are interested primarily in Photoshop Elements, and, as such, we've been focusing most of our efforts on that.

I am, however, looking for some expert help on the Premiere Elements side: if we're going to offer tutorials and video clips, I want to make sure we've got some solid folks providing info. Once I get that, we probably will create some basic - and free - tutorials for the Learning Center.

On the Village, for the short term, we're treating the Premiere Elements forums in a similar manner to the Lightroom forums - they're there as places for people to discuss and troubleshoot, but the current focus of Photo One is making sure we do a darn good job on the newsletter and the Web site for our subscribers.

Probably not the answer you were looking for, but I did want to be straight with you.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions.

From what you have said and from the "About onOne Software" statement at your company web site, Premiere Elements does not appear to blend well into your current business model which is photography/photographer oriented. Your focus choices for company growth are understandable.

But, there is a large number of us out there, non pros in the beginning and intermediate stages of photography/videography, who create a great market potential. For us Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements have been our tools for creating family memories and such. (OK, I can hear those out there shouting ProGold, Pro Gold but....) Great and greater photos created with time saving means should be the goal, but great photos (all dressed up) are complimented by sharing routes that include video.

I hope that, after a business review of the issues, that you opt to go the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements route.

Thank you for your consideration.

ricklepage,

My previous comments still hold, but I need to make the following edit to bring closure to this....

Oversight on my part...I just realized that Photo One Media (where you are GM) and onOne Software have common roots, but are two distinct companies.
