I am starting to feel like the stupidest person alive! Finally someone directed me here and said to ask, that everyone was helpful.

So far, I have PSE7, I have actions downloaded and unzipped.

My problem is knowing where to put them. The person that directed me here said that I was supposed to put them in: My Computer > Local Disk (C> Documents & Settings > All Users > Application Data > Adobe > Photoshop Elements > 7.0 > Locale > en_US > Workflow Panels > Actions

and I get as far as the en_US but then I have no file called workflow panels, all I have is plug ins, support files, and application swfs, none of which have a subfolder called actions.

Can someone please help me. I know this can't possibly be as hard as I am making it but no one seems to be able to help me.

Thanks, Andrea

Andrea,
Be sure to have Hidden Files and Folders visible in Windows (>Tools >Folder Options >View tab).

Also, looking around for some detailed instructions, I came across this post, which links to a pretty comprehensive tutorial:

Hi Andrea,

Which actions are you trying to install? That installation path installs actions into PSE's new Action Player. The Player works great for some actions, but not for all of them. The Action Player is well suited for actions that complete themselves automatically rather than those that require input and adjustments from the user while they're running.

There are links here on my blog with instructions to install actions in PSE 7 on XP or Vista. http://digitalphotographyformoms.net/photoshop-elements-help/installing-actions-in-photoshop-elements/. The installation path in these instructions will place your actions in the Effects Palette of the Full Edit window, which gives you more control over the results of the action.
