I have a slideshow I created on my old computer using PSE6. I had no problem burning it to a CD on the old computer using PSE6.
I now have a new laptop and PSE6 is running on it. When I tried to burn this same slideshow, I got an error message that a .DLL file was missing and suggesting I reload PSE6 which I did. Now when I try to burn the CD, the "Burn" menu pops up but all the fields are grayed out. My system seems to think it's working because a see the "hourglass" but it just remains until I cancel the process.
Anyone have a suggestion I might try to resolve this?
Thanks.

You say that you created a slideshow with your old computer and had no problems burning it to a CD. After you finished creating your slideshow in the slideshow editor in the old, what output did you use, VCD, other?
Here is where I need a bit of clarification. You have a new laptop with Photoshop Elements 6 installed? You say that "I tried to burn this same slideshow...." What do you mean by that?
a. Do you mean that you took a .wmv version of the slideshow created in the old computer and incorporated that in a new slideshow in the laptop, If so, what was the saved location of the .wmv which was moved into the Photoshop Elements 6 laptop?
or
b. Did you somehow move/copy the catalog from the old to the new and tried to burn the slideshow from the Organizer Project File
or
c. other including anything involving a network.
Also, depending on your answers,
Forget about the old computer and any projects from and with it, can you use Photoshop Elements 6 in the laptop to create a new slideshow and burn it successfully to VCD (if that is what you want to create)?
To be continued..........

Thanks for your response. I did try starting from scratch and creating a new slideshow with the same results. When I try to burn the VCD the "Burn" menu pops up but all the fields are grayed out. My system seems to think it's working because a see the "hourglass" but it just nothing happens.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Let us take a few minutes to reflect:
1. What was the operating system for the old computer?
2. What is the operating system for the new laptop?
3. Did you uninstall/reinstall Photoshop Elements 6 on the laptop or did you go for a Repair instead?
4. How much available RAM and free hard drive space are on this laptop vs how much available RAM and free hard drive space were on the old computer?
5. Have you checked the Photoshop Elements 6 System Requirements and verified that your laptop meets them?
6.What exactly is going into this slideshow? Photos? Pixel dimensions of photos are?
7. Please review and verify the following route:
Photoshop Elements 6/Organizer/Create/Slideshow/...create your slideshow.../Output Tab, followed by selecting Burn to Disc and dotting the VCD option.
8. You say that the Burn dialog is grayed out:
In the Select Destination Drive, is there any text there naming your burner(s) even though the names may be grayed out?
In the Select Video Format, can you dot the NTSC?
At the bottom of the burn dialog, does it say "Disc Creation by Sonic Solutions"?
9. In the message that you get on the laptop about the missing .DLL file, does it say what .DLL file? Do you still have the old computer with Photoshop Elements 6 installed on it? If so, can you do a search for that .DLL file there. Then look for the same .DLL file in Photoshop Elements 6 on your laptop. If not there, what about copying it from the old computer and using that in the laptop? BUT, I would think that just uninstalling/reinstalling Photoshop Element 6 on to the laptop from your installation disc would do the job.
Those are my thoughts for now.
