I purchased Photoshop Album mainly because I'm a total newbie at managing and editing my photos..it's a wonderful program in it's pure simplicity..my question is,why should I consider Adobe Elements other then very complicated photo editing tools which will do amazing things but for those of us just needing minimal editing tools should I stick with what I have or move up?

Mysto,

If you do indeed only want to do simple editing then PSA may well be enough for you.

Elements is capable of fairly complicated tasks but one of the good things about it is that you can use it at different complexity levels .. it has a series of simple fixes which you can start off with but also gives the option to move onto more complex editing when you want it.

I started off using simple editing but then I found a lot of old photographs that needed restoring .... and I moved on :) ... It actually wasn't hard to use and do remember that there is always someone on this forum who will help.

Mysto,

My experience is similiar to Wendy's. I started off with PSA2, in fact it was the free trial that I used. I decided to go up to PE3 rather than buy the full version of PSA2 because I wanted the added editing functionality that PE3 gives.

I agree with Wendy, if all you want to do is simple editing like fixing common flaws, store your photos and share them with people then PSA2 is probably all you need.

It really does depend what you want to do.

Below is a link to an Adobe product comparison chart. It shows and compares the key features of PSA2, PE3, PE Premier etc.

Interesting,I've got a change to purchase Elements v.2 at a discount or should I wait and get the latest version although I'm not sure what the upgraded version does that v2 doesn't..anyone know who has investigated this?
