I have a background layer, it was to dark so i did a levels adjustment layer , now my question how do i save as a png and keep the adjustments made. When i save it does not show my adjustments. It seems to merge down and only show my background layer.

1. Why do you want to save as .png ?

2. Suggest that you duplicate the background layer, apply levels (preferably as adjustment layer), flatten image and save

3. If that does not fetch it, suggest that you reset preferences.

ken when i flatten the image it takes away my levels adjustment. I am saving as a png because it is a bow. I will try and reset my preferences.

Ladybug,

I am missing something here. What is "because it is a bow" ?

:confused::confused:

Ladybug, when you Save AS your layered file (background + your levels adjustment layer), and you select PNG from the drop down file format list in the Save As dialog, PSE will automatically flatten the file, save it as a PNG and then return you to your current layered file in the current workspace. If you then open the PNG you just saved, it will only be a single layer, but the adjustments from the levels layer should be reflected in the saved PNG file. Try it and do an exaggerated adjustment (real light or real dark) to verify.

thank you both for your help. There was some glitch. I saved my png. Opened it did the adjustment again and it took this time. I knew it was not acting right. Ken i apologize i saved it as a png because it is a bow to be used in scrapbooking so it needs a transparent background.
Again thank you both . I am happy the glitch resolved itself.
