I am only just starting to play with ACR. Here is the original and then the enhanced. I did finish off with a bit more tweaking in 'normal' photoshop.
I took the shot in jpg, and as you can see it was horribly overexposed. Any further suggestions for improving the editing in ACR would be gratefully accepted as I really want to master this program.

Toni - what a huge difference - I need to start playing around with acr. I didn't know it would work on jpg as well. Beautiful image!

Toni, nice work,, you were lucky that the over exposed shot did not have the highlights blown and were able to render a very nice photo,,
love the software available today and what all we can do,, was a film man for over 40 years and remember the work needed to try and save a photo (if at all possible) when processing or printing,,

Here's my version.
A little more neutral and detail in the swan.
By the way, what does ACR stand for, is it Acrobat Distiller?

Frank, I agree that your take on it makes the swan stand out more. The whole image is more true to what my eye saw at the time.
I think I must have upped the vibrant and clarity sliders too much. It's hard to know when to stop sometimes.......
