Hi Jean - you have certainly brought the breakout to a whole new level! Congratulations - super job:)

Looks great, Jean. I really like how you have a breakout on the top and right side of the image.

One thought: should the grass and road under your (?) arm be deleted as well? Minor detail.

It really looks nice, though.

Hi Jean ...

Wow that is good !! ... well done.

Same minor point as Mike about the grass ... but you really have done a great job on it:)

Gee, Brice - I never looked that good - she is a friend. I am one of those senior senior members who use PSE as a way to stave off alzheimers. You know, use the brain. And sometimes that doesnt always work, as Mike and Wendy found. You have sharp eyes, I stared at that photo for ages. Here is the corrected photo

I am doing it totally differently from the video. I took a portion of the background from the picture; cloned out the part of the bike that was in it; played with that as the background - distorted it, skewed and drop shadowed. Then lassoed the whole bike and rider and put her onto the background photo. Seems to work for me.

Big improvement, Jean. I'm constantly amazed at how much the little details matter.

Great work! Thanks for sharing it with us!

I was talking about the bike, yeah, that's the ticket. I never noticed the grass. I was looking at eyes of the subject and never got further...

I noticed you had wondered from the original breakout technique and I would imagine the average person would never notice what you did. The shadows on the feet and back tires gave it away for me. Also the angle and proportions of the motorcyle to the road gave it away as well. My first glance didn't detect it, but being PSE aware now I look for photo retouching in every image (newspaper, magazine, etc) and I've learned more images are doctored than not.

Great job! The correction really sells the effect.

Call me a cynic, but I think they all are. I look for ones now that might not be:rolleyes:

Gary ...

I agree most images now seem to be photoshopped ... its kind of fun spotting them :)

I actually changed the steps to the end result because I couldnt master the video. At 3 a.m. I woke with the alternate way to do it. Now I find lassoing the subject from the background is easier. I also look carefully at all the ads. Jean

Jean ...

3 a.m  ... that sounds like an Elements addict to me. Actually it is funny how sometimes you really struggle with something and then the solution hits you in the middle of the night :)
