I have one more noob question. From what i've read, shooting in raw will seem to leave me with about 3-4 file types. The RAW shot itself, my converted storage file (tif), one for websharing and another for printing. Sounds like an organizational nightmare. 4 Folders for each set of pictures or storing my RAWS on disc and then having 3 folders. Is this how most people store their photos?

I understand it this way:
Do your raw editing and finish in whatever program you use then, save it as PSD. If you need a photo for web save it for web on your desktop with a newname_web. Do your thing with the web,and delete it. Same for printing ect. I only keep things in PSD or whatever untill I am happy with the photo and then they are all saved as JEPG'.
I do this because sometimes my wife will come home and want to send photo's to,...who Knows, and I want to keep them ready for her.

Actually you don't need to keep anything other than the original RAW file (and a back-up of it) unless you really want to. It's really no different than shooting jpegs. Not quite sure what you were reading but the only reason for saving any files other than the original RAW file would be if you'd done a lot of extra editing beyond what you did in the raw editor (or Lightroom) and don't want to have to repeat it. I only bother to save anything other than RAW files if I have a reason (like it's going to be part of a slide show). Organizationally shooting RAW is no different than shooting JPEGS.

I seem to be following you guys around and once again Tony and I are on the similar wavelengths :)
I use Lightroom and shoot exclusively RAW. I print directly from the Raw image. Any web based images I produce directly from Lightroom through its Web Module.
My other main usage is producing slideshows using Proshow and for this I need to produce sRGB JPEGS, which I just export from Lightroom but typically these are un-managed and may only be one time use and then deleted.

I recently used RAW for the first time and will save all the original files to CD as backup. JPEG files are on photobucket so I can share them.
