Hi guys

I'm having problems emailing from the Photoshop Elements 6 Organizer.

In past versions of PSE (3 & 5) I could prepare a photo for emailing in the organizer (select an appropriate size small, medium, large etc and convert files to jpg if necessary) then it was saved to an 'outgoing email attachments' folder rather than actually emailing it from the Organizer. I prefer Mozilla's Thunderbird email program. I could write a new email from Thurderbird and just attach the prepared photo from there.

I can't find a way to do that in PSE 6. The only options I've found in the Organizer's Share preferences are Windows Mail and the Adobe Mail Client. As a last resort I've tried to use the Adobe Email Sevice but get a message "Error Saving To Outbox" each time I've tried.

Short of preparing the photo for email myself and saving it to a folder, is there still an automated way of doing this in Photoshop Elements?

Thanks

Donn

I'm not sure I follow. Are you trying to atach the file? or insert it into the email?
Or are you just wanting to resize and then send it outside PE6? the attach to email usually works pretty good and would use your default email client.

Donn,

I totally agree with your frustration that Adobe took away the simple workflow of preparing for email and then saving to the outgoing email attachments folders.

What you can do instead is to use the Organizer File menu Export command, which can resize plus convert other formats to jpeg. You can select multiple thumbnails in the Organizer and then start the Export command. During the process of the Export command you choose the folder to which to save the photos: therefore you can make your own folder structure of Outgoing Email Attachments with subfolders based on date/time (like the PSE 5 Email process had).

Post back here if you need more information on the Export command.

Thanks Barb, I'll give that a try. The other 'work around' I found is using 'Save for Web', resizing it there and saving it to my own folder.

Thanks again!
