Requirements for install PSE 7

I have read that the system requirements for version 7 are 1GB of RAM and a 2 GHZ processor. So my question is, does anyone know if it will install with less. I have heard that sometimes if the requirements are not met then it will not even install. Would this be the case with PSE-7.

If it does install with less, then does it run properly?:confused:

There's been a fair amount of discussion about this on the Adobe user-to-user forums. PSE 7 will definitely run on machines with slower processors -- the 2 GHz "requirement" is really just sloppiness on Adobe's part, since many if most consumer machines sold today have processors with clock speeds less than 2 GHz. People have reported that on older processors with 1.3 GHz, it runs but it's sluggish. Clock speed just isn't a reasonable indicator of speed in any case.

The 1 GB of memory may be ok on XP but probably is too little on Vista, depending on what you're doing. PSE 7 will install and run, it just could be way too slow for your needs.

I think you'd be best waiting a couple of weeks until the free trial is available for download and giving it a whirl.

Also, why not consider adding more memory, if your machine allows it? A gigabyte costs about $25 these days. Adding memory is one of cheapest ways to make your computer go significantly faster.

Sorry I haven't answered your response to my message sooner. I have been ill. Now that I'm better and back on the computer I wanted to thank you for all your info. Actually my computer has adequate ram and the speed is probably okay, but my friend's may not be. I'm not even sure at this point if I really want to upgrade. I already have ver. 5 & 6, which seem to work just fine.
