Restoring from Backup

I was just going through my catalog in PSE 5 Organizer. There are a number of pictures that seem to be missing. I am not at all sure why, but I have been having some very odd VISTA issues lately. I have a backup (unfortunately, it's a bit old), but I have a question...

If I restore from this backup, does it affect the pictures added SINCE the date of backup? Logically it shouldn't, but reading the Help information, I wasn't sure.

If you use an old backup, your catalog will contain only those photos in the catalog at that time. Those photos are also restored to the directory they were in at that time, or to another directory that you specify.

Any photos added to the catalog after your backup will have to re-imported into the catalog, and those photos will have to be re-tagged.
