No "Help" in 7.0

Everytime I try to access Help in 7.0 (Vista) it tells me to reinstall. So before I have written this thread. I have reset the perferences-no luck. And uninstall & re-installed--still no help files---any ideas?:cool:

Vista does not support help files in many older programs, that may be the case here.

There is a download fix that may or may not help you. Check this link:

In PSE 7, if you have an Internet connection, the Help command just takes you to the help area of the Adobe Web site. If you don't have an Internet connection, it takes you to highly incomplete Help content missing most of the details you're probably looking for (just as in PSE 6).

You could struggle to fix the Help command and you might succeed (as people struggled with 6). But I don't think it's worth it, given the above. Instead, you could bookmark the Adobe online Help:

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopElements/7.0_Win/

and from there you could download the full PDF User Guide as well (the obscure link in the upper right corner). I prefer the PDF User Guide, since it's often faster than accessing Adobe.com.

Thank you John! I have bookmarked on my toolbar now! I do see the icon if I want to download pdf--again thanks! P.S. I have a connection to the internet-so that is not the problem
Geeez, I only wanted to find out how to use the smart brush--so hours later I still don't have anything accomplished!:twisted:

The Learning Center at photoshopelementsuser had some videos on version 7. It does have a video on the Smart Brush - maybe that would help.
