I like to make a digital scrapbook wallpaper to have on my computer screen. You know where i have all the programs etc.
What size?
What resolution?
I know that the screen can adjust the wallpaper but i want it to
be as near the right size anyway.
I tried one that become very blury.
Please, can anyone help me?

Resolution doesn't matter, just set the Pixel Dimensions the same as your screen uses.

Two things to consider.
If you have an LCD screen it should be used at only one setting - the one on the box - often called the Native Resolution. So you could check your manual.
Other thing to do is - assuming a Windows PC - Right Click on your Desktop and then select Properties from the Pop-Up Menu if XP or Personalise if Vista.
If Vista then the Pop-Up Window should include something called Display Settings - left click on this. You'll now see the display setting at the bottom where the slider is - incorrectly called resolution. It will say something like 1024 x 768.
I XP you'll go straight to the display properties and you should click on the Settings Tab. Again you'll see the slider with the settings.
If you do have an LCD screen the settings should match what the screen manual says otherwise images do not look sharp.
If you have a Mac then I can't help you :-)

Below is the link to a site that offers hundreds of nicely done free for personal use, mostly scenic, wallpaper files, and new ones are added almost daily. They are available for download at wide screen 16:10 as well as the older 4:3 ratio and a few others as well at all the popular screen resolutions including the OP's 1280 x 1024. Many of these wallpapers are great as is while others lend themselves nicely to tweaking or enhancement in various ways especially if you are a plugin fan like I am. Just click the download button and when the picture comes up right click and use the Save Image (or similarly worded option) to copy the picture to your hard drive.

If you do not know your screen resolution, the introductory paragraph at the site will tell you what it is.
