I am using an iMac computer model 7.1, running Tiger operating system 10.4.11. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 and Elements 6. They both say they are compatible with Mac's OS 10.4.11. When I open a picture in Elements 6 and edit it, such as enhance> adjust lighting> levels and work the sliders and/or vignette the picture and then save it - the picture, most of the time will show in its respective folder only as an icon indicating it is a jpeg file and although it will have the correct file number it will not show the thumbnail preview. The only way to show the thumbnail in the folder is either to "force quit" elements 6 or shut down the computer. Then when you go into the folder the thumbnail picture will be there. I do not have this problem with Elements 4. Adobe says it is a Mac problem and Mac says it is an Adobe problem. I would like to use Elements 6 but because of this problem I have not tried any of the other features in Elements 6 and am using Elements 4 100% of the time. I would like to know if anyone has experienced this and if there is a fix for this?

Although it could well be a problem at a deeper level, you should check the saving preferences to make sure they are set up correctly:

In the preferences dialog, go to Saving Files. Make sure Image Previews is set to Always Save and that at least Icon and Macintosh Thumbnail is checked.

Other than that, I can't think why it would be happening, especially the whole Force Quit issue. You might want to try running a permissions repair via Disk Utility or a 3rd party program such as Onyx or Cocktail. Permissions problems can often cause strange errors and occurrences.
