I loaded about 99 photos, which is normal for me, and as I am going through them to see which one's I want to edit but clicking on each one and selecting CTRLW when I don't want it, eventually an error is coming up that says "Disk Error -36 occured while reading or writing to a scratch disk. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable" Then a button that says quit. I click quit and get kicked out. This is new for me, I have been using PSE6 for almost 8 months and this has never happened. I defgragged my scratch disk and there is plenty of space available on it. Does anyone know what this is?

Try going to the command screen a run chkdsk and specify the drive letter. It could be your drive is going bad. If you get a lot of errors run the chkdsk again with the F switch to fix the bad sectors on the HD.
