I am writing my next tutorial and discovered a place in the Presets area for Contours.
I can read all about what they are for on the internet and I tried installing one, but I see no place within Elements to find and utilize it after I install it.
Is this just something to hold the one default contours file that comes with PSE?

Hi, Hummie - it's "curve shapes" for various things like bevel shapes, inner glow shapes, etc. - things that are available as options in the styles dialog in Photoshop, but not in Elements. :(

Well, that's what I understood them to be from reading on the internet---but couldn't imagine why they was a Preset folder for them in PSE. I just wanted to check with others to make sure I wasn't missing something somewhere--always ready to learn new things.
Thanks for answering.

Hummie: like Graffi said they are used for layer styles like bevel and emboss and the one that is in there is the one that comes with Photoshop (it actually has 12 different contours in the one file). I guess it's there so that any layer styles made in full Photoshop will work in Elements as long as they are made with standard contours. What happens if people make layer styles with their own custom contours I don't know but I assume they would have to supply a new preset file for them to work right either in Elements or Photoshop.

Hi, Hummie if I had to take a guess I would say they are used by some of the builtin functions - like making a frame. FWIW Tom :)
