I've done a lot of testing in recent days on layer styles.
I found that the way everyone was doing them before is misleading and a tad inaccurate.
Previously, the fields of the xml files were filled with the name of the style.
This is not true.
The fields should be the name of the category you want them to go in.
You can have more than one xml file with the same category.
The .asl is picking up which xml file to attach to by the name of the file and not by what is inside the xml file.
I have a new page on my site (http://www.hummiesworld.com/plugins.html)that will host all installation instructions for all versions, along with videos.
