Hi,

I recently photographed a wedding using my Pentax K10d system. The lead photographer asked me to send her all the photos with a 300 dpi resolution.

When I import my photos into Elements 6.0, the default dpi reads 72. When I opted to process multiple files, selected resizing, Constrain Proportions, and changed the dpi to 300...the size (mb) just skyrocketed! Also the print sizes were like 52 inches x 36 inches...clearly not right.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or recommendations.

...by the way, this is my first posting on this forum site...so Hi!!:D

The lead photographer probably needs a lesson ;). The dpi doesn't matter - the only thing that matters is the number of pixels. The only time it becomes a consideration is when it comes time to print and whether the file says it's 72 dpi or 300 dpi won't make any difference at all to the printer.

If you really want it to show as 300 dpi then you would go into Image Resize, uncheck the resample box and change the 72 to 300. The pixels stay the same but the physical size would change to reflect the higher dpi. But I don't know a way to do that using process multiple files.
