I'm trying to post a rose picture using Pixentral
No luck. I'm frustrated by the unusual requirements for posting on this site. http://bobmielke.smugmug.com/photos/382232846_DwQoN-L.jpg
Trying one more time after shrinking a photo.

It worked but it's so little. Does this mean I'll need to resize every photo just to post them here? Arghh! Another folder filled with duplicate work to maintain! :)

Bob,
Your rose is very pretty - I like the iridescent quality.
For posting to Pixentral, I usually use 'Save for Web' to make the image 800 pixels on the longest side. After you've uploaded it, scroll down to the bottom of the screen where your uploaded image appears and copy the bottommost link which is marked 'Forum". (Make sure you copy the entire link - triple clicking it works for me).
Create your forum post and at the point where you want the image to appear, click on the 'insert link' icon (the blue globe with the link symbol). Paste the entire Pixentral link into the box and click 'ok'.
Hope that makes sense and works for you...

bob, go to this link
http://www.pixentral.com/
and follow the pictured instructions.
Whatever you upload should be less than 2MB which is the size limit on what you can post on pixentral.

By the way, nice rose.

Bob,
Your roses are beautiful.
The pixentral photo looks small but we can click on it & it will bring us to the larger photo to view.
Thanks
Christell

Bob, your rose is beautiful. I can click on it and get the larger image. I had a lot of trouble with Pixentral in the beginning. With everyone's help I quickly learned how to use it. When you "Save for Web" it doesn't resize your original image. You'll understand it in no time.

Bob,
What a beautiful image. I can almost smell it!:)
The beauty of posting using Pixentral is that those people on dial-up don't have to wait and wait for the image to appear on their screen.
You could also set up a gallery from this site to display your images in a more permanent way. If you click on 'How to use the forums' at the top right of this page there are a couple of videos by Mike and one of them gives directions on how to set up a gallery.

Thanks to all for the compliments on my flower photos. It's my first attempt at still life as I'm normally shooting scenic landscapes. I moved there from portaiture where I was a wedding photographer many years ago.
I'm pleased that I finally got a photo to post as I'm accustomed, in the other 6-7 forums I frequent, at simply using the x format and actually seeing my work in the body of the thread.
I store my "keepers" at http://bobmielke.smugmug.com & keep it open to all since I no longer sell my work. I moved to the Pacific Northwest 28 months ago & use my site to share my adventures in the outdoor paradise with my friends & relatives all over the U.S..
