This was a quick tutorial to follow although one step didn't make sense to me. (alt>layers>merge visible). I just skipped that step, and it turned out fine. Here is the link to that tut.

and my take on it:

Suzanne I love how that came out--I'll have to take a look at the tutorial after catching up on all my TV shows. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks Jancy. I recovered my computer from my husband's tight grip yesterday. I was really getting withdrawals from not being able to play. He was taking a certification test on the internet and it lasted four loooooooong days!

Suzanne,

I love the way your image came out. This is a very simple tut, but very effective. I'd used it before and for the step you mentioned you had skipped, I did Ctrl-Shift-Alt-E to create a composite layer.

I went back to the editor and tried your suggestion. I can see how that works now. I think the creator of the tut was using PSE 2 and I have 6, so that is probably why it didn't make sense to me. He called it "merge visible", but when you do "merge visible" from the layer menu, it puts everything into a background layer. That part was confusing. I printed out the instructions, so I'll pencil in your instructions. Thanks for the compliment and the hint.

Great tut Suzanne. I like the results and it was easy. I'm adding the pic to my gallery. Thanks for sharing it.
