Adobe Announces CS4 Creative Suite

For those of you with an extra $600-$2500 lying around collecting dust, you can purchase or upgrade to a version of Creative Suite 4. I haven't seen pricing for CS4 standalone, just the suites.

I looked on the NAPP site and Photoshop CS4 upgrade was listed as $199.

$199 is hard to beat. I'm guessing we won't see a cheaper offer.

Looking at the minimums - for Mac at least you need
PowerPC G5 or multicore Intel processor
I'm still back on my old trusty G4 so no way am I going anywhere near 4

I saw the Adobe presentation yesterday and I thought CS4 was just too technical for me and went out and purchased CS3 upgrade. I only have PSE (all versions except 1) so I think I am eligible for the upgrade price. Now I see that CS4 upgrade is 197.99 at Amazon. Is this program similar to CS4 with just upgrades. Would I be better off to go for the CS4 and send the CS3 back? Am I correct about the upgrade from PSE being right?

Hi Sue ...

To be eligible to buy the CS4 upgrade you have to already have CS, CS2 or CS3 (CS3 upgrade you need PS7, CS or CS2) ... and you need the original serial number that came with them in order to be able to install the upgrade.

Upgrading from Elements to Photoshop is quite different and that upgrade is priced a lot higher at $599
