Many years ago I had a quick release kit that I used on my tripod with my Pentax LX. It was small and inexpensive and worked well. Now, 25 years and several moves later I have lost it. I have no idea where I bought it or the brand. I'd like to find something comparable. I don't need a big, heavy rig.

Can anyone recommend such a kit?

Thanks.

I'm not totally sure about what you mean but if you mean a tripod head that can be quickly attached and detached from the camera there are several of these made by Manfrotto, Markins, Really Right Stuff and Kirk Photo. There is a plate that is attached to the camera and it is quickly attached or detached to the tripod head by means of a lever.

Thanks for a much better description than I provided. That's exactly what I'm looking for. The local camera stores don't carry anything and I'm reluctant to buy something online if I can't look at it first.

I'm familiar with Manfrotto but not the other brands. I'll give them a look.

Thanks much--

I bought one from Wal-Mart. Not expensive, quality fair to good and has quick release.
