Very nice!:) Did you add the rays, or were they there somewhere in the mist?

I added the rays myself with the radial blur and the mist was there, it too k a bit of trial and error but i was happy with my first attempt. I mite even prit out and put it up somewhere.

I took the picture my self, I am from Northern Ireland so plenty of good landscapes around our north coast, I was just lucky enough to catch the mist myself :). Thanks for the comment.

You really changed the whole feel of the picture. Great job. I would not change a thing. What a first attempt!

Thanks guys, really do appreciate the feedback. I got it printed out A4 and going to look for a frame today. It really is an amazing program, sucks up so much of my free time and I dont even notice the time passing.

Currently workning on a sunrise pic from holidays and a few other's.

Awesome! Two different pictures, two different feelings. Can you put a rainbow in the dark cloudy one somehow?

Fantastic job..not sure how I missed this one.

A little late now that you have it printed but you may want to try a bit of speckled sun/shadow on the grass in the foreground (those lightbeams need to shine on something:)). It may make it look fake or it may help.

I think I would have stopped where you did as well... sometimes too much fiddling can really mess it up.;)

Can hardly wait for your sunrise.

Gary, thank you, I have just posted the sunrise and another picture as well.

You mention speckled sun I was thinking the exact same thing at the time but just couln't manage to get what I wanted, how would u suggest I go about it? Is there a gie or tutorial anywhere?

Thanks

Quick go

http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1pw7n220Lhx0ASF8EN2IGPdLRb3SV_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1pw7n220Lhx0ASF8EN2IGPdLRb3SV)

added a new blank layer
default f/g and b/g
filter>render>clouds (hold alt as you click on the cloud makes them angrier)
Set blend mode to overlay or soft light adjust opacity to your liking
move the cloud layer ... enlarge/shrink/rotate tillit looks good where you want.
Use a mask if you have one, or just erase the part of the cloud layer that is in the wrong spot

hope this helps.:)

That's pretty impressive for a first project. BTW, I took one look at the Before and knew it had to be Ireland.

Bobbie,

Yup have to say there is some real nice landscape opertunities, its just a pity about the rain. Tore Head, where that picture was taken, is one of the highest points along the North coast. Its the sight of a really old derilect lifegard house, it would be a lovely focal point for a pictue apart from the fact it has been vandilised :(.

Just incase you are ever over its about 5-10 miles from the Giants Causeway on the Coastal Senic Route, I am heading up there at the weekend to take some snaps with my new DSLR.

Gary,

I love that effect and it has been jotted down in my little elements book of effect, I dont think it looks fake at all, gives the forground a much nicer focal point.
