My city suffers from people who seem compelled to "mark" territory like mongrels without regard for the cost inflicted on the property owner... so my first thought is whether these paintings are authorized, or vandalism.

That said, I think they are very clever!

I wish our unauthorized markers would at least put their talents to such artistic use instead of the usual "my teacher is a dork" work that seems to tax their IQ....

Here in the UK we just paint over Banksy's work :) ... although he does have a high following.

If you look at his slide show of the images he says near th end that he later realised that by doing them he was making the cleanup more difficult.
