I attempted the technique by Mike Rodriguez in the recent techniques mag. Thanks Mike. It was fun.

Funny you should say that. The day this photo was taken we had had a lot of rain so I thought my son and I would go take some pictures. We were at the park for a whole 10 minutes before my son ended up in ankle deep water so I had to scoop him up and take him home. This was the only picture we got that day.:)

My son would say, "Is that real water?" and stick his foot in it to find out. He is now 53 and still tests the puddles.

Nice triptych-great photo choice! I enjoyed your gallery. The spinning layers look great with that photo. I think that finding a photo that looks good with that treatment is not so easy.

You're most welcome, Steve, and fine job! Looks great! I also really like that shot of the boys playing hockey in your gallery.

Thanks for sharing your creation!

getting stumped on step 2. using elements 7 and am trying to make the first of three black rectangles but I press "U", the rectangle tool and it only gives me an elipse tool... not a rectangle tool.. can anyone help?? thanks

Keep pressing the U, one click at a time, until it cycles thru to the proper tool. There are 5 or 6 shapes within the shape tool. The other option is to click on the little arrow (bottom right corner) of the shape tool. That little arrow means there are more choices "buried" under the shape that is showing (same is true of several other tools...lasso, healing, cloning, eraser, brush, blur, sponge).

I've been using PSE 5 for almost a year now, and on this forum about the same time. When I started, I knew less than nothing about PSE 5. I cannot believe how much I have learned in a year, and when I can actually help someone, it is a big thrill for me, since I still consider myself such a newbie regarding PSE and digital scrapbooking. It was kind of the Senior Members to give me a chance to answer one of the few questions I'm able to handle! :o

Hi David-

Glad you got it sorted out. Shar, thanks for chiming in. Good work.

Just for the record, and for anyone else that may be stuck on this one, that "hitting the U multiple times" thing should work in 7, 6, and likely earlier versions, too (although it's been awhile since I've used 3-5, so don't quote me on that).

Mike
