I, too, am a card-carrying member of BA... :o ... but will pop over and look anyway.
Isn't it ironic that the link goes somewhere called Ten steps? I thought it was twelve? :p:D

Great brushes, but can I use them in PSE5.0? Jean

I use V 5. Haven't found a brush yet (with an abr extension) that doesn't work. I think I've downloaded from this site before. Won't hurt to try.

Lisa,
Thanks for the link.
Brushes! That's unchartered waters for me! But, hey, I'm always willing to try something new. (As if my addiction to plug-ins and textures weren't enough.):D
Just a dumb question: I have PE4 and soon will have PE7. Where do the brushes go? I mean, into which folder in the PE directory?

Hi Sepiana,
Unzip and copy the .abr file to c:/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 4.0/Presets/Brushes. Have fun!

I tried to open some of the brushes. For instance Lady Victoire foliage - download/open. Immediately PSE5 opened - and nothing. Where did the brush go? Perhaps it doesnt work with 5.0 and XP. Can someone help. The brushes look great. Jean

Hi Jean,
if you download and save, what I do is save them to a folder on my desktop, unzip if they are zipped (though I think the set you mention weren't zipped) and then install them.
You should see the .abr file, this is what you install and the path is as Julie wrote,
c:/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 5.0/Presets/Brushes
so you can move or copy the .abr file to that location, should work fine in PSE5 with XP,
hth,
Lisa :)

Lisa, need help. Downloaded four foliage files, put them in program files/presets/brushes in 5.0. They are showing in the preset folder, however not showing in the brush list on PSE5.0. When I loaded the abr files I was told "This styles file is bad or corrupt". I often get that, yet some things work.
If I go to the preset file under program files and click on, for instance, Trees by Horhew, PSE5 comes up and nothing happens. I hope I have explained it right.
What have I done wrong? Please help as I know I can use some of the designs. Jean

Jean,
I'm not sure what is happening with the .abr files, if it is one file not working properly, then I would imagine there could be a problem with that file.
Hopefully someone will be along who is good at troubleshooting or has had this happen and knows what to do next, sorry I don't have an answer,
Lisa

It is frustrating, I hate for the computer to get the best of me. I have downloaded another set of brushes from that site with no problems. Even tried downloading them into 3.0 that I also have on the computer, but that didnt work either. Jean

Not all brushes, styles, actions, etc play well with all versions PSE or something could have happened either in the download process or on the web site to damage the files. Could try re-downloading and see if that works. FYI I don't add brushes into PSE itself as having more brushes takes longer to start up the program. I keep them in a separate file and use the load brushes feature. I also usually check them out right away to see if works with my mac/PSE versions and delete any that don't.

Wonders!!! When I brought in PSE5 this morning there were the brushes. Guess they were sleeping yesterday. Great and I am happy that somehow I conquered the computer. Jean
