I have a Canon six cartridge printer and the black nozzle is not printing correctly. I have done the deep cleaning thing and its still not working correctly. Any suggestions on what else I can do? Does it need to go in the shop? Thanks.

Judy, what kind of Canon printer is it? I have two Canon printers s900 and s9000. The s900 is several years old and I have completely overhauled it. First, I would run the deep cleaning two or more times and then I would try a new black cartridge. If that fails your printhead is probably worn out. You can take it to a Canon repair dealer (Google for one in your area). He can pull out the print head and try one he has in the shop. The question comes down to cost. The print head for my s900 was about $75.00 and you can buy a new printer relativity cheap. Labor should be nothing as the head just lifts out. My s900 performs great so I elected to buy the print head and a few other items to fix it. Good luck.

Judy, follow Bill's suggestions and if all fails either go for a new print head or new printer.
If you have a lot of ink left over you may want to go for a new print head. I bought one from Canon for $41.00 and replaced it myself. It's easy.
To keep the printer viable you should print at least once per week.
