Hi
I am trying to get a pic of a child to be in B&W and just the eyes in colour, I can get it to the magic eraser stage, but when i use the eraser, it does some of the skin around the eyes, I have tried to zoom in and i am geting really close but the skin still appears, only a little but but too much for my liking, i have changed the size of the brush but still no luck..... any ideas?

Are you using a hard edge brush?

Is your feathering set too high?

I'm no expert here, but those two things popped to my mind.

My guess is also that your brush is too soft and probably that the image is low resolution ..

I don't know if this is right or not, but I did it this way. I brought in the photo. Copied it to another layer. Create new layer. Used magnetic lasso around just the pupils. Then made the 1st layer (the copy) B&W. Then merged both layers. This left the layer with the pupils in color and no skin around the eye!

Here's the link to my layout using this technique.
