How can I improve the resolution of the slides when making a wmv (movie) slide show from Photoshop elements via Premier Elements?

My DVD slide show works fine on the TV, but resolution is poor. I thought it was the limitation of the television pixels, but if I simply copy jpg files onto a DVD and look at them on the television, they are much better.

The wmv output options include one for PAL (Europe) television, but the resolution is given as 720 X 576, obviously quite poor.

If I look at the file setting options for something better, and choose Browse for More, it just gives me the option to search my own C drive for "Windows Media Encoder Profiles" *.prx files, but I don't have any to my knowledge.

Not sure which version of Elements you are using but the list doesn't include all the options that come with Elements. If you are using PSE6 and Browse to:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\shared_assets\locales\en_us\tv_profiles

you'll find some higher resolution options that may be more suitable (for example there's there's a Widescreen High Definition Option that plays at 1280x720 if you have a TV that supports that resolution.

Thanks for that, TonyW. The options for higher resolution are indeed in the location you gave me - I'll give them a try.

All the best

Seems none of the options actually offer any higher resolution that works on a PAL system. I noted older posts elsewhere with a similar query, and the only answer seemed to be to download Windows Media software to make new *.prx files, but that all sounds too complicated for me. I'll have to abandon the slide show option and just save the jpg files on dvds. Pity, since it is otherwise quite a nice system.
