Hi -my son visited us & put in SP3. Now when I bring up this site & others the text is too small & I have difficulty reading the Forums
I went into IE>View>Text size & put it at Large & then Largest but this text remains the same too small. It was not like this before SP3.
How can I increase it please ?

As a start, check out your Monitor settings to see if they are as before the upgrade to SP3.
Control Panel/Display/Settings
What is the Screen Resolution, 1024 x 768 pixels or something else?
Do you have a standard or widescreen Monitor and what size?
To be continued,

As ATR noted, you can change the monitor resolution but there's another option if you're using Internet Explorer version 7 or later. Look at the status bar at the bottom of the IE window (if you don't see a status bar, click on Tools, Toolbars, Status Bar to turn it on). At the far right side of the Status Bar, there's an option to change the zoom level - this will make everything bigger (not just the text). I like this because I can zoom in only when I need it without having to change the resolution back and forth.

Thanks for repling. Atr I have an HP w2207 Monitor. It is at 1680x1050 right now. I cannot remember what it was at before but Hp says this monitor can go to 1680x1050.
Glenda to get to the Zoom feature I go Page >Zoom it was at 100 & I have now put it at 125 which is nice but when I go over to another website e.g PCEC then I have to change it again, as it is now 100.
Before SP3 I had no need to zoom in on any site . Size of Text on Village was same as on PCEC.
Another thing there was the row of Icons with Page & Tools at the end ,there was also an Icon for my Email along there that has now disappeared.
Thanks Storm

Change your monitor resolution to 1024 x 768.That should correct your problem.

Storm,
I checked out your HP Monitor and the native resolution that I found quoted for that model 22 inch was 1680 x 1050 pixels, your current settings. There is always the possibility that before the upgrade from SP2 to SP3, the screen resolution was set at a lower value which would give you the large type. Is there any chance that you son adjusted (increased) the screen resolution from what he found to the native resolution suggested by HP in addition to installing SP3?
I do not have Internet 7, so I cannot comment on gcherry's good suggestion.
Please let us know the outcome.

Oh if only life with Windows were that easy :)
Bob 1024x768 what that does is make the Text larger and it will cover the whole of the screen barr an inch . but it is Short & Fat. This is not correct .
ATR No my son did not alter the settings , have just been on the phone with him. He told me to go to Page> Zoom & put it at 125% it is presently at 100 but then when I go to another site which is at a 100 I have to click in again up to 125. He said this should not happen .In other words he said when I just zoom to 125 on Village it should automatically come like that ( 125% ) when I go to PCEC. If this should be then I think there must be some other place I have to do it in if you understand what I am trying to say.
Thanks. Any other ideas why does SP3 do these things. I had an Email icon up on the same line as Tools Page etc .It is no longer there- why?

Bob and Storm,
During the past year, I went from standard to widescreen monitor. With these widescreen monitors you need to go with the native screen resolution as cited by the manufacturer (in this case HP), not necesarily the resolution of 1024 x 768 as you find in the Adobe System Requirements. Lowering the screen resolution of the Widescreen Monitor below its native resolution increases the type size but often distorts it.
Storm,
I take it that you have Internet Explorer 7. I do not have that version so I cannot experiment. Another speculation is the installation of the SP3 changed some of your Internet settings. I am going to think about this some more based on your information that all you did was install SP3 and nothing else.

Try
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Uncheck "Reset zoom level to 100% for new windows and tabs."

Karin Sue,
Is that an option that starts with Internet Explorer 7? Since I heard varying reports about problems with Internet Explorer 7 and since I use Firefox most of the time, I never upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. My Internet Explorer 6 does not have the option that you show in your graphic.

Karin -I thank you & my poor eyes thank you . It is fixed ! Have been on PCEC & its OK there also.
The text looks larger than when in SP2 but thats alright.
When it is in Zoom 100 all pages in both sites fit properly and the blue/grey Bar at the Bottom is right up to the arrows on either side.
Now that I have it in Zoom 125 this blue/grey bar sits in the middle with approx 1inch space at either end.
Sorry this is the best way I can describe it. This to my thinking shows that SP3 did alter the Text size. But there must be many of you that have d/l SP3 & has this happened to any one else ?
Did a lot of Googling & went to many computer help sites but found no mention of this though there were a lot of other problems associated with it.Lots of swearing too especially among the Gamers.:D
Thank you all again I sure hope nothing else goes wonky :)

I spoke too soon :)
Text increase has no effect but zoom to 125 is OK here but on all other sites I have a problem.
When I do Zoom 125 I cannot get the sides of the pages no matter how I try. I push the side out with double headed arrow it increases the page width but spreads out the text & I end up at full 22ins & still the pages are off the screen. This has got crazy .
Suppose I had better call the shop this is hurting my eyes too much.
Thanks for trying to help me I dont understand why no one else has this problem
