Hi,

I am working on a photo where I have converted everything but the images of three people to black and white. I selected the three people using the magnetic lasso and then choose invert to convert everything else to b&w. Despite my best efforts one of the three has a blue halo around her head. These are pixels that were in the background and "came through" the hairstyle. Is there a way to select only these blue pixels and convert them to b&w and leave the rest alone?

Try using this method instead:

1) Open you picture
2) Create a Hue/Saturation layer
3) Set the Saturation to -100. This will make it Black/White. Click OK.
4) Attached to the Hue/Saturation Layer is a Layer Mask. It should be white right now.
5) Click on the layer mask, and with black, paint in what you want NOT to be B/W. If you make a mistake, change color back to white, to get back the B/W.
6) Zoom in closer when it comes to the hair and any problem areas.

Johnny,

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
