I just found this wonderful board and I hope someone here is smarter than I am :).
I want to move some files off of my computer onto an external hard drive. BUT I also want those moved files to be in more than one location just in case.
So, I have 2 shiny external hard drives sitting next me. I want to move a bunch of pictures off my computer onto them plus backup all the remaining pictures onto them. Sounds simple, but here's where I keep confusing myself.
Once pictures are moved onto one of the externals, they are no longer on the computer to be part of the backup I do onto the other external. So how do I get ALL of my pictures (those on the c drive and those moved to an external) to be on BOTH external hard drives?
At the moment I'm thinking I need to move and back up through PSE 6 onto one drive and then copy that drive onto the other through windows. I know the one I do through windows won't play nice with PSE 6 but at least I would have the files if the worst would happen. Or would the restore function also move the "moved files" that are moved off of my c drive?
I hope this made sense. The whole thing gives me a headache!!! I would really appreciate any advice any of you have!!!! Thanks!
