Lost effects and art work

Hello folks I wonder if anyone can help me. I use a mac running Leopard and using elements version 6. Suddenly i have no effects or artwork appearing in the right hand part of screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still no good. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Could try resetting preferences. Uninstall doesn't do that. Hold down command,option, and shift keys while restarting elements. When it asks if want delete preferences, say yes.

Try this :

Rename the Mediadatabase.db3 to MediadatabaseOLD.db3 (it is located at Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\ en-US) and restart Elements ... the Mediadatabase.db3 will rebuild but you may have to wait a while for it to do so.

Once it has rebuilt then you should have the artwork & effects back again.

Hi wendy thanks for the reply but all I am seeing in that folder is a folder called presets, cant see the ones you suddest beyond application support/adobe/photoshopelements ??

Hi again. Wendy thanks for that advice that solution worked partly. When i changed the file name in my admin account and started elements then the effects etc were rebuilt and working perfect. However when I went into elements in my own user account the same problem persists, no effects etc. Very odd! Thanks for your help so far.

Wendy actually you are a star and with a bit of common sense I managed to make the same changes in my account restarted elements and hey presto problem solved. Thank you so for your help, that issue was driving me mad!!

Oh I am so pleased that you have it fixed ... :)

Sorry I forgot about the Admin account issue ... I run all my things through my Admin account so I tend to forget that there can be issues with PSE6 if you don't.
