Resizing

Some time ago I saw a dissertation on resizing---up or resizing down. It was, I think, on a link but I am not sure. At the time I thought that it was not too important for a beginner to know but now I realize how important it is. I have a pretty good idea now about the subject but this explained how pixels-ppi--dpi-- etc. etc. was about. Can some-one please head me in the right direction on where to get this info? BillandCat
