I am trying to create brushes from Illustrator art in PS6 for Windows. When I open the art in PSE as a jpeg, select it, and go to the Edit menu, "Define new brush" is grayed out. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Use the marquee tool or lasso tool to draw a selection around the object. It doesn't have to be exact...just so there are marching ants. Then go to Define Brush from Selection.

Also, you can't be more than 2500 pixels wide or high for a brush - or that may be the max total.

I wasn't putting the image on a background, so couldn't save it. I'm new to PS (although I've been tripping around with it since the first version). Thanks, again.
