I have large number (5K+) of scanned old photos in my Elements 6.0 catalog. I have placed the dates they were actually taken onto them, anywhere from 1880 to the present. I have written the Keyword Tags and Properties into the Photo's.
I would now like to export all of these into JPG format with the name of the photo and the date is was actually taken displayed on it. I can then send these to a memory card and put in a Digital Picture Frame for my parents. Mom really wants to see the dates on the photos in the Digital Picture Frame.
Using the Editor I can get the file name, but the date is the file date on picture, not catalog date taken. I have tried IrfanView but have not been able to get the date of the picture into the photo.
In Organizer, if I look at the Metadata, I can see the field Date Time Orginial under Camera Data(Exif) has the information. But when I run InfanView Batch Conversion I can get the date to show up. Under Advanced->Add overlay Text->Settting. I have tried various combinations of $Ex in the text section and am getting nothing. $N and other placeholders work but not $E or $I.
Am I missing something or is there another tool I should use.
Thanks
