View Full Version : PSE4 - Error with File/Burn/Move Offline

I selected several files and used the File > Burn... Move Offline option to burn the files to CD. I was told it would take 3 discs. I burned and verified each in succession following the prompts. When it did the verify of the 3rd disc, I got an error that the disc may be damaged and it prompted me to insert another. I did so and got this error, "Error encountered while writing to disc. The disc may be dirty or damaged. (result:14 command: 190 sense: 5 asc: 100 ascq:0)" At this point it just quit and I was in the Organizer with the files I was attempting to Move still selected.

Assuming it was disc problem, I tried again and got the same succession of errors. If I browse disc 3, it is readable and the files are there. I was also able to use one of the discs suspected of being "dirty or damaged" without issue.

At this point, I've wasted about 8 CD's. They have my files copied to them but I cannot get to the point where it marks the files as off-line and deletes them from the drive.

This is my first attempt at this operation in PSE4 but I did it numerous times in PSE3 successfully.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Barb

I'm also having the same problem burning to a DVD.
I found in another Adobe Support site that isufficient hard disk space must be the problem. I'll free a lot of hd space and try again.

I think insufficient HD space can hardly be the problem, with burning only three discs, I recently did a FOURTEEN disc back up (don't ask, cos I am not sure myself) and all discs burned fine AND verified with no problem, no errors etc...

I have archived seven discs at once, again no problem, taking the image off the HD....

Sorry not to be more help....
